The vehicle which had been impounded for about a month, allegedly disappeared minutes after another court, the Gardnersville Magisterial Court, issued an arrest warrant against Kromah and another defendant, Robert Lambin, who bought the vehicle from Kromah. Philip Gongloe signed for the truck as instructed by Magistrate Peabody. It was while at the Gardnersville Magisterial Court that a group of individuals entered the court yard of the Temple of Justice and ‘mysteriously’ made away with the truck in the absence of Dolley. There are several communications in the possession of the Daily Observer from Magistrate Peabody addressed to authorities of the police before he dismissed the case. Despite the letter and the writ of arrest, Peabody dismissed the matter for lack of jurisdiction and subsequently turned over keys of the truck to Lambin, before its ‘mysterious’ disappearance.
