Operators of electricity distribution networks could face a £13.4 million cut in revenues over failures in managing connections for new customers. The energy regulator said that the six owners of the Britain’s 14 electricity distribution networks were failing to engage effectively with customers looking to connect to the power grid, such as businesses and new housing developments,. “Our view is that all distribution networks operators may have fallen short of these expectations,” Ofgem said, following feedback from customers to a consultation in July. “In general, distribution networks operators seem to be improving their engagement and services but some specific issues raised by stakeholders remain unaddressed. As a result, each of the distribution networks operators faces a reduction in its revenue.”The failings included missed deadlines…
