THE move by the Higher Education Ministry to train teachers to be proficient in teaching the English language, as presented in the English Language Roadmap 2015-2025 as part of the Malaysia Education Blueprint 2013-2025, is highly lauded. I agree with the minister’s statement that “teachers need to improve their proficiency, knowledge and skills, and keep up with advances in English-language teaching”. We provide English lessons via Facebook for students, from the primary to university level, using materials of our own, and those from school textbooks and related websites.
