A day after Indian visa operations in Chittagong were suspended indefinitely, the Bangladesh High Commission here “temporarily suspended” consular and visa services on Monday. PTI reported that the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Tripura had also suspended visa services. Citing “unavoidable circumstances”, a notice issued by the Bangladesh High Commission here said: “All consular and visa services at the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi have been temporarily suspended until further notice. In its statement on Sunday, the Indian Visa Application Centre, Bangladesh, had cited a “security incident” for suspending services. Meanwhile, India and Bangladesh have also countered each other on a reported protest outside the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi.
