In courts today: Judgment day for PS Korir in wife beating case

A Nairobi court will today deliver judgment in a case where Water and Sanitation Principal Secretary Julius Korir was charged with assaulting his wife. Korir was accused of assaulting and causing bodily harm to Evelyne Koech at their home in Karen, Nairobi in 2020. She narrated that Korir returned home one day and asked for food but started beating her even before she could respond. An emotional Evelyne further told the court that she was lucky not to have lost the baby following the beating. In May, the court put Korir on his defence after he was found with a case to answer.
