The Office for National Statistics also found that the number of male chefs on television was giving a misleading picture of who really cooks. Women spend seven hours a week preparing food, compared with half that by men. Men do step up when it comes to driving, spending about seven hours a week ferrying everyone around compared with a woman’s five and a half hours, although that includes commuting.
