Independence and National Day observed in Khulna with due respectPhoto: PIDKHULNA, March 26, 2026 (BSS) – The Great Independence and National Day was observed in Khulna today with due respect and solemnity, paying to the martyrs of the Liberation War. Wreaths were placed at the memorial by Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Khulna city and district units, Divisional Commissioner Md. At 8:30 am, the national flag was formally hoisted at Khulna District Stadium by the divisional commissioner. The Khulna City Corporation organised children’s art and essay competitions, discussion sessions, and a prize-giving ceremony at the city building. Khulna University, Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET), Mongla Port Authority (MPA), West Zone Power Company Ltd, Khulna Press Club, Metropolitan Journalists Union, Khulna Journalists Union and different educational institutions also observed elaborate programme on the day.
