The event, where the External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar was the chief guest, brought together guests who have contributed to the India-UK relationship.British High Commissioner Lindy Cameron , who wore a gold sari with a jacket, started her speech with a namaste . After addressing the guests in Hindi, she added, “A very warm welcome to the King’s Birthday Party 2025. It is a huge privilege to be here with you all this evening as we celebrate His Majesty King Charles III’s birthday here in Delhi, and it is a particularly special moment with our chief guest – External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar – whose wife inspired me to wear this sari. “I have had the privilege of being invited by the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association to go and spend some time in the UK as a future leader. I like the familiarity and cultural affinity in the UK,” she said.
