Under the five-year project to use space technology to improve border management, the Indian Space Research Organization is going to launch a satellite for exclusive use by the Indian Home Ministry, reports The Times of India. Minister of Home Affairs of India Rajnath Singh has approved a taskforce’s recommendation about deploying the satellite as well as planning operations, The Indian Home Ministry disclosed on Thursday. Over the long term, ground segments will be developed, as well as network infrastructure, to share satellite resources by user agencies. This project will strengthen island and border security; and facilitate infrastructure development in border and island areas.
