Mejir, 66, was gunned down by an officer on Tuesday morning in the Staatsliedenbuurt district of Amsterdam. When police arrived and confronted the pair, believed to be Meijer and his son, they both ran off and a chase ensued. According to the police, a situation arose which resulted in an officer on a motorbike shooting Meijer. It is alleged that the pair planned to commit a robbery in the Staatsliedenbuurt area of the city.
