By Dean SealThe U.S. Patent and Trademark Office granted Inspira a patent for its ART500 respiratory medical device. The Israeli company said Wednesday that the patent relates to the device's automated self-priming module, which is intended to ensure emboli-free connection to the patient's vascular system and thereby reduce the risk of blood clots forming. The patent contains nine distinct claims that are all deemed novel with inventive merit and practical applicability, Inspira said.
