Infectious diseases specialist Joseph Tsang has urged the authorities to take more steps to identify unknown chains of coronavirus transmissions in Hong Kong, RTHK reports. Tsang said there is a need to step up efforts as the number of patients recorded rday remains high. He noted that in a lot of new patients the course of infection cannot be traced, which means there are unidentified chains of infection in the community. A media report had said that the government is planning to invite tenders to develop such a “notification system”. Tsang said a better approach would be to give a code for high risk groups, such as workers at wet markets, restaurants, public transports or beauty salons and gyms.
