International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) Tamas Ajan has resigned after a documentary alleging years of corruption and doping violations at the organization. German broadcaster ARD has claimed that under Ajan, a culture of corruption took shape that saw top weightlifters taking the dope test and responsible officials taking bribe. In a statement the acting IWF president Ursula Papandrea thanked Ajan for his contribution. “The IWF thanks Tamas Ajan for more than four decades of service to weightlifting,” Papandrea said. "This film has completely ruined my life and 50 years of work.
