Kenya is one of the popular travel destinations the world over. It was therefore a plus for the tourism sector to host the American Society of Travel Agents for the 2017 ASTA Destination Expo. With hundreds of representatives from North and South America, Kenyan organisations in the travel and tourism sector had the opportunity to showcase their products such as hotels, transportation, safari package solutions and other experiences. The event took place at the Tribe Hotel in Nairobi. One of the major announcements made at the expo was Kenya has been granted Category 1 status by the US government following a meticulous assessment audit by the Federal Aviation Administration and other US agencies.
