An Invercargill primary school is spending $5000 on security cameras in the wake of vandalism and unsavoury behaviour on school grounds. Donovan Primary School principal Peter Hopwood said there had been many past cases of wilful destruction and highly inappropriate behaviour at the school outside of its normal operating hours. He hoped the security cameras would act as a deterrent. Many schools had security cameras, particularly in the big centres in the North Island, he said.
