Investigation launched after death at Disability Support Services home


Police and WorkSafe are investigation a death at a Nelson Marlborough Health, Disability Support Services home. Several investigations have been launched after a person died following an accident at a Disability Support Services home, where it is understood they were run over in a driveway. Nelson Marlborough Health general manager of mental health addictions and disability support services Jane Kinsey​ confirmed a “serious and unfortunate incident” occurred at one of its Disability Support Services facilities on December 11. Kinsey said in a statement Nelson Marlborough Health did not have consent from the family to disclose the patient’s status. Disability Support Services provides residential support for around 200 people across Nelson, Tasman and Marlborough, in more than 50 suburban homes.
