IPOH: The Ipoh City Council (MBI) has carried out a demolition operation targeting unauthorised structures in its phase one enforcement exercise involving four locations where boom gates had been erected on road reserves. Datuk Bandar Zamakhshari Hanipah said the barriers were reportedly installed to control access into residential areas under the council’s jurisdiction. “A 30-day compliance period was given to the parties involved prior to enforcement action. Zamakhshari said the operation involved about 80 personnel and was carried out with the cooperation of several agencies, including the police, and Tenaga Nasional Berhad. The enforcement exercise began at 9am and concluded at around 11am.
