Amazon data center attack: In a significant escalation against US-linked assets in the Gulf region, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) said they targeted an Amazon cloud computing centre in Bahrain on Thursday. According to a report by the Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA), the IRGC said the facility was targeted "in retaliation for attacks on Iran". The site was previously targeted in an Iranian strike on Wednesday, causing significant damage, the Financial Times reported. Following the attack, Bahrain's Interior Ministry had said civil defense teams were dousing a fire at the Amazon facility after it was targeted by an Iranian attack. In the statement, the IRGC described its attack on the Amazon data center as the first action against US and Israeli "espionage" firms in the region in retaliation for the "assassinations" of Iranians, Xinhua reported.
