The defence minister of Iran, Amir Nasirzadeh, and Revolutionary Guards commander Mohammed Pakpour were killed in Israeli attacks, Reuters reported, citing three sources familiar with the matter. Nasirzadeh was the Deputy Chief of Staff for the Iranian Armed Forces before becoming the Minister of Defence. Pakpour assumed command of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in 2025 after taking over following the death of the previous commander, Hossein Salami, due to Israeli strikes. Attack on school children Earlier, Iran's Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi claimed that the Israeli strike on an Iranian primary school for girls killed dozens. The Iranian regime has not abandoned its plan to destroy Israel.
