The Ireland men closed out their FIH Hockey World Cup qualifiers with a win over France to take top spot in the Santiago tournament. Ireland responded, with Feargus Gibson doing well to break into the circle and find a foot to win a penalty corner. France won another penalty corner, but France hit the outside of the post. The team will turn their attention to the FIH Hockey Nations Cup this summer before the all-important FIH Hockey World Cup in August. Ireland's women played Japan on Sunday night in the 3rd/4th place playoff of their qualifiers, with World Cup qualification for the winner.
