In the dairy trade battle, the EU is set to lose far more than the US because US imports of dairy far exceed EU imports of US dairy products. In 2018 the US imported over 230000 metric tonnes of EU dairy products compared to the EU which imported less than 23,000 tonnes. Rabobank said that the majority of Irish dairy exported to the US would be subject to tariffs.
