Politics of Wednesday, 28 January 2026Source: www.ghanaweb.comFormer National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freddie Blay, has criticised former Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, over comments he recently made about the party. According to Blay, Prof Frimpong-Boateng’s remarks are damaging to the image of the NPP and undermine the principles of internal party democracy. Speaking in an interview on Channel One TV on January 27, 2026, Freddie Blay described the comments as reckless and irresponsible. It be recalled that, Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, recently stated that the opposition NPP has two branches, one he calls “fake” and the other “real.”According to him, he no longer considers himself part of the “fake” NPP. Speaking in an interview on Channel One TV on January 12, 2026, Professor Frimpong-Boateng said the party’s current way of handling affairs is tantamount to corruption.
