The International Court of Justice (ICJ), which on Tuesday asked Pakistan to desist from executing Indian national Kulbhushan Jadhav, is the chief judicial arm of the United Nations. Interestingly, Islamabad has said that since Kulbhushan Jadhav is charged under espionage, Pakistan cannot, under its laws, allow India consular access. With India instituting proceedings against Pakistan, New Delhi's case against Islamabad on the Kulbhushan Jadhav death sentence is now officially open at the International Court of Justice. After oral arguments have been submitted, the International Court of Justice will privately deliberate over India's claims against Pakistan.
