If you don’t think that, this may not be for you. From On The Hour to Alan Partridge, Friday Night Armistice to Time Trumpet, The Thick of It to In The Loop and Veep. There is almost nothing he has done that has not gone into influencing my love of comedy. (On today’s Red Box podcast I end up asking him if he’s ever done anything rubbish. In recent years, much of what he has done has influenced the day job, too: The Thick of It was a pioneering comedy satirising that strange, distant time in politics when there was so little news happening they had to spend all day spinning nothing much.
