The county government of Isiolo in conjunction with others came out to help a special case that was an expectant woman stuck in a submerged hospital van. They deployed a helicopter with medics onboard to save the woman whose delivery date was due. Citizen TV reported that she had been booked at the Malkadaka dispensary but was transferred to the Garbatula Sub County Hospital, whose doctors referred her to the county's major hospital. The Isiolo County Teaching and Referral Hospital medical superintendent, Hussein Abdi Mohamud confirmed the woman was in stable condition after the operation. The task of picking up passengers from the truck was made difficult by a submerged high-voltage power line.
