On Saturday morning, air sirens sounded as Hamas began firing thousands of rockets at Israel, including major cities like Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Soon after, Palestinian fighters crossed the border of Gaza into southern Israel, where they began taking hostages. Fighters from Gaza also stormed the Supernova music festival at Kibbutz Re’im, two miles from the border, where thousands of young people were partying. Footage has circulated that appears to show a young woman being driven off by militants on a motorcycle, while gunmen march another man away. It is believed another young woman, 23-year-old German-Israeli dual national Shani Louk, was also kidnapped by Hamas fighters.
