There will be no end to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict while Israelis and the Palestinians carry the burden of their leaders' actions, writes Benjamin Pogrund. The beginning can be pinpointed precisely to 18:00 on Monday 10 May 2021. Hamas, the Islamic Resistance Movement, fired hundreds of missiles from Gaza into Israel with civilians as indiscriminate targets. Israel responded with fighter jets and artillery, wreaking destruction on people, rocket launch sites and buildings. Since then, there’s been a daily toll of death and damage inflicted by both sides.
