Israel and the United States carried a wave of attacks on Monday (April 6, 2026) that killed more than 25 people in Iran. Explosions rang out into the night in Tehran and low-flying jets could be heard for hours as the capital was pounded. Thick black smoke rose near the city’s Azadi Square after one airstrike hit the Sharif University of Technology grounds. Later, Israel’s army said on Monday (April 6) it had completed a wave of strikes against “regime targets” in Tehran. “A short while ago the IDF completed a wave of strikes on Iranian regime targets in Tehran,” the Israeli military posted on Telegram.
