NNA – Italian Defense Minister Roberta Pinotti inspected on Monday her country’s contingent operating within UNIFIL in south Lebanon at its headquarters in Tyre’s Shamma, accompanied by a high-ranking delegation from the Ministry, Italian Armed Forces Commander General Claudio Graziano, Italian Ambassador to Lebanon Massimo Marotti and a high-ranking military delegation. Greeting Minister Pinotti and accompanying delegation upon were UNIFIL’s Western Sector Localities’ Commander, General Ogo Chello, and a number of Italian officers and peacekeepers. Pinotti and her accompanying delegation listened to a detailed explanation on the nature of the current situation and the mission of the Italian peacekeepers in the south, as well as the projects and services provided by the Military Civil Cooperation Bureau for the benefit of the local population.
