Kenya's Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York, Ambassador Martin Kimani has said that it has been a privilege serving the country. "It has been the privilege of a lifetime to serve Kenya as its Permanent Representative to the UN in New York," Kimani said on X. "I am enormously grateful to His Excellency William Ruto for honoring me with the opportunity to advance his bold and consequential leadership on the global stage." His exit follows President William Ruto's nomination of former Turkana County Assembly Speaker Erastus Lokaale to serve in the role. He also had prior engagements with the UN, serving at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat).
