Murang’a Governor Irungu Kang’ata has challenged both the national and county leaders to eradicate poverty and help Kenyans live better lives. Kang’ata said 60 years after Kenya attained her independence, it’s unfortunate that a large number of Kenyans are still struggling to access basic needs. The governor who spoke at Rurii stadium in Mathioya during the Jamhuri Day celebrations, said it is paramount for policies to be put in place to eradicate poverty. He said some Asian countries that acquired their independence later than Kenya have progressed to be among the developed nations. But the governor said corruptions is one of the main causes of poverty in the country, and that the vice should be dealt with conclusively.
