MANILA, Philippines — The Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) yesterday submitted to President Duterte 32 nominees to fill eight vacant positions in the Court of Appeals (CA). The JBC informed Duterte that the council has interviewed 67 applicants. Of the number, 32 were selected to replace four former CA justices who were appointed to the Supreme Court (SC).Four other CA justices have retired. The CA justices who were appointed as SC magistrates were Associate Justices Ramon Paul Hernando, Rosemary Carandang , Henri Jean Paul Inting and Amy Lazaro-Javier. The four other vacancies were created by the retirement of Associate Justices Normandie Pizarro, Carmelita Manahan, Sesinando Villon and Edward Contreras.
