Kevin Maxen, the assistant strength and conditioning coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars, has become the first male coach in professional sports in the United States to publicly come out as gay. Maxen made the announcement in an exclusive interview with Outsports.com, stating, “I don’t want to feel like I have to think about it anymore. Coming out was a decision Maxen made to live his life openly and without fear, hoping to inspire others to do the same. However, since coming out, Maxen has received an immense amount of support from within the Jaguars organization. Kevin Maxen’s decision to openly come out as gay marks a significant milestone in professional sports in the United States.
