Mr Rees-Mogg today thanked the 'dedicated officers' but apologised for taking up their time. He tweeted: 'Many thanks to the @metpoliceuk for their kindness in escorting me home with my son yesterday. In the footage, Mr Rees-Mogg and his son are followed for several minutes through the Inner London borough as anti-Brexit protesters shout loud abuse. Similarly, demonstrators could be heard shouting 'shame' as Mr Rees-Mogg and his young son passed the protesters on London's Millbank, while police could be heard urging people to leave Mr Gove alone. While Mr Gove, said: 'I’d like to say thank you to our wonderful police for their kindness today.'
