The Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan has congratulated Islami Chhatra Shibir on its landslide victory in the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) elections. In a statement posted on its Facebook page on Wednesday, the Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, through its Amir Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman, called the victory a “new history in Bangladesh”. All praise is for God!”The statement described Islami Chhatra Shibir as the student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, naming it as “Islami Jamiat Talaba”. It hailed the Shibir panel's massive success in the DUCSU elections as a “first in Bangladesh’s history”. Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan also praised Bangladesh’s interim government for organising the election in a peaceful environment.
