Former Newport County captain James Clarke has joined Cymru Premier side Cardiff Met as a player-coach on an 18-month deal that keeps him there until mid-2027. Cardiff Met say Clarke's signing "represents a significant coup". In a statement, they added: "In addition to his playing responsibilities, the new signing will step into a coaching role within the Cardiff Met FC first-team setup. "He is no stranger to the club, having previously worked as youth phase development lead within the Cardiff Met FC Boys' Academy. "His return marks an important progression in his coaching journey, as he transitions from the academy environment into the senior coaching structure."
