ADVERTISEMENTThe economic offences wing (EOW) of the crime branch said in a statement that they conducted searches at multiple locations in Srinagar and Budgam “in connection with an alleged large-scale fraud case dating back to the Covid-19 pandemic”. “The accused individuals impersonated government officials, posing as delegates and OSD (Supplies), and issued fake allotment orders of various departments and institutions. On the basis of these findings, according to the crime branch, a formal case has been registered and an investigation set in motion. “If speaking the truth about terrorism unsettles Pakistan’s agencies, that only proves the truth ishitting where it hurts.
