January was second-wettest ever in Dublin, Met Éireann climate research reveals

Dublin Airport and the Phoenix Park recorded their second-wettest Januarys ever – and their wettest since 1948 – with 220pc of their average rainfall counted over the month. The station with the highest-recorded rainfall was Johnstown Castle in Co Wexford which received 230pc of its long-term average rainfall. Met Éireann has announced new yellow and orange weather warnings starting from tomorrow morning. A status orange rain warning will be in place for Wicklow and Waterford from 3am tomorrow until 3am on Friday.
