Meanwhile, alliance partners that once stood alongside Hasina -- Bangladesh Workers Party, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JaSaD), NAP (Muzaffar) -- have been hit by arrests, bans, and disarray. At the time, the Gono Odhikar Parishad demanded that the Jatiya Party and Awami League allies be banned outright as “collaborators of dictatorship”.
