A bypoll had been scheduled to be held in RK Nagar on April 12, but it was cancelled after Income Tax raids uncovered evidence of massive corruption and bribery. Madhusudhanan belongs to a party faction led by Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam. The TTV Dhinakaran faction will announce the name of its candidate tomorrow. * NOTE:At the time of the first, cancelled bypoll, TTV Dhinakaran and Edappadi Palaniswami belonged to the same faction, the one which governed Tamil Nadu. Palaniswami and rebel leader O Panneerselvam later merged their factions, sidelining TTV Dhinakaran and Sasikala.
