HOUSTON—Josh Donaldson was back in the Blue Jays’ starting lineup Tuesday after sitting most of Monday’s 14-inning marathon with a tight hamstring, but shortstop Troy Tulowitzki remained on the bench with his chip-fractured thumb. BARNES, BOLSINGER BOLSTER PENAfter playing 12 innings on Sunday and 14 on Monday, the Jays’ bullpen was in desperate need of fresh arms. Tulowitzki suffered the injury in Sunday’s game when he was hit by a pitch, but the team remains confident he will not need a stint on the disabled list. Tulowitzki seemed to have no trouble throwing before the game — he could still play the field in a pinch, Gibbons said — but the injured thumb limits his ability to comfortably grip a bat. “I don’t think it’ll be too, too much longer,” manager John Gibbons said.
