Craig Bray, 28, from Newport then went on to steal a TV from the communal area of a care home in the city following a burglary. Hannah Friedman, prosecuting, told Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court he assaulted his former partner in January after accusing her of cheating on him. She said he had thrown the can of Cherry Coke over her and slapped her after they had argued when he went to see her. Over the following days, Bray bombarded her with telephone calls – some 140 in total – in which he made some vile threats. The judge, Recorder Dyfed Llion Thomas, told Bray that the threats he had made to his ex-girlfriend were “unforgivably cruel”.
