Jet Ski dangers highlighted after another incident in Carlingford

'We will have a serious accident if something isn't done about this,' Harry Jordan of Carlingford Swimmers warns after a jet ski entered Carlingford Harbour recently when swimmers and kayakers were using the water. This incident happened the Saturday before the Bank Holiday weekend when a powerful jet ski circled a bouy in the harbour which is used to indicate the area used by novice swimmers. He says that the jet skier was 'showing off , playing chicken with the sailing boats and there are are also reports that the same jet ski went to Greenore and was zipping around the dolphin.' Responsible behaviour is essential for people's safety and peace of mind,' Roger Sweeney from Water Safety Ireland said. Get trained and enjoy the water safely,' Lisa Hollingum, Water Safety Delivery, RNLI added.
