Jihadist arrested over plot to get followers to infect Tunisian police with coronavirus

Tunisian authorities have said a 'terrorist plot' to spread the coronavirus among the country's security forces by coughing, sneezing and spitting on them was thwarted yesterday. Two men, including a suspected jihadist behind the plot, were arrested on Thursday, according to the Interior Ministry in Tunisia. However, he said he found them difficult to carry out because of the preventative measures that were in place, stopping him from entering the headquarters where the security forces were based. The Guardian reports that there is a curfew between the hours of 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. which security forces enforce. According to figures from Johns Hopkins University, Tunisa has seen 822 confirmed cases of the coronavirus, with 37 deaths.
