KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court today sent an unemployed man to the gallows for trafficking in 9.63 kg of cannabis, more than two years ago. Judicial Commissioner Datuk Nordin Hassan in handing down the death sentence to Ibrahim Musa Rifa'l, 32, said he was satisfied that the latter's defence contituted mere denial and an afterthought. “The evidence that was given by the accused also contradicted that of the second defence witness, who is the father of the accused." Ibrahim was found guilty of trafficking in 8.18kg of cannabis at his residence No 61 (2)A, Jalan Hamzah, Kampung Baru, near here at 2pm on April 3, 2014. Six prosecution and two defence witnesses were called during the trial, which started on April 4, this year.
