Daniel’s sister, Diondra, confirmed his death, while his cousin, rap icon Snoop Dogg, acknowledged the loss on social media Monday. Daniel rose to fame as the creative force behind the iconic cover art for Snoop Dogg’s groundbreaking 1993 album Doggystyle. Daniel’s life took a remarkable turn when, while incarcerated, he received a call from Snoop Dogg asking him to design the Doggystyle cover. He continued to collaborate with Snoop Dogg on subsequent album covers and expanded his repertoire to include children’s book illustration.
