Joe Gomez was seen with a scratch under his eye during England training on Tuesday morning. The Liverpool defender was sporting the injury having hit the headlines following a bust-up with Three Lions team-mate Raheem Sterling on Monday. Gareth Southgate subsequently dropped Sterling from the England team set to face Montenegro in their Euro 2020 qualifier on Thursday. The scratch visible under Gomez's eye comes after Sterling was alleged to have manhandled the Liverpool defender at St George's Park. It is believed that Sterling attempted to grab Gomez by the neck following his arrival in the players’ canteen.
