JOHOR BARU: A married couple decided to quit their jobs as a fireman and a bank officer to venture into the food industry by making and selling burgers. “I have been doing this since 2014 and slowly I franchised our products and burgers which are different. Nur Khalidah was a bank officer for six years before quitting her job at the end of 2019. “We used our savings to start our business and with perseverance and patience, our business is growing well, ” she said. “About 40% of those under our franchise programme have lost their jobs in Singapore due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
