Join Michelle Eliot for a conversation about anxiety and motherhood on International Women's Day

Join BC Today host Michelle Eliot at The Juggling Mother: Coming Undone in the Age of COVID , a virtual conversation about COVID, motherhood and work with author Amanda Watson on International Women's Day, March 8. Amanda Watson, a lecturer in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at SFU and mother based in East Vancouver, is author of The Juggling Mother: Coming Undone in the Age of Anxiety. At the free event, Watson will read passages from the book which explores how the popular image of the contemporary mother — frantically juggling paid labour and unpaid care work — perpetuates disparities of race, gender, class and ability. Following the reading, Watson will join CBC Radio One's Michelle Eliot for a discussion about how the COVID-19 pandemic has influenced this vision of motherhood.
