Simon and Amanda Ward are forever grateful to an Invercargill joinery business for what it did for their 7-year-old son with autism. It was a week before Christmas Day when the present the Wards had bought for Oliver arrived from the United States. It was meant to be a ship’s helm and bell mounted on a stand, but the stand was missing. Amanda contacted Howley Joinery to see if they could make a stand. “Absolutely, we’ve got all the machinery here to do it.”Amanda said the joinery staff would have been rapt to see Oliver’s reaction to receiving the stand, helm and bell on Christmas Day.
